Pierre Merle’s drawings are characterized by the building of imaginary spaces: between utopias and many territories sheltering heterogeneous objects extracted from his areas of interest (construction of living spaces, space exploration, woodworking, geek culture, archaic techniques, geology, emerging technologies, ecology, fascination for progress, DIY and art of war, landscapes and topography).

This book is the atlas of all the things coexisting in two series of drawings named “strates” and “archipels”: there are many worlds mixing all these elements and arranging them in different ways: sedimentary or volcanic, on the ground or in the air, in length and in width.
